The History of Rotary Club of Ukhra goes back to its Charter Day i.e; 24th February, 1983.
Rotary Club of Ukhra was a part of Dist: 329 which include clubs from Nepal, Bangladesh & India.
In the year 1985-86 Rotary Club of Ukhra was a part of Dist: 3290 which included Calcutta, Burdwan & the seven sisters of North-East of India.
Currently, Rotary Club of Ukhra is a part of Dist: 3240 which happens to be one of the best district in terms of Donation & Service Activities.
The Charter President of Rotary Club of Ukhra was Rtn. J K Dua & Charter Secretary was Rtn. S. K Bandhopadhyay.
Rotary Club of Ukhra is a strong club in the District with sizeable donations every year. Currently, we have 1 AKS Members, 8 MPHFs, 26 PHFs & 3 Polio Plus Society Members.
Apart from various service projects focusing on community needs round the clock, we currently have many permanent projects which includes Rotary Centre for Kidney Care (Free Dialysis Centre), Free Weekly Medical Camp with free Medicines, Two Free Vocational Training Centres (Ukhra & Khottadih), Free Computer Training Centre, Free Weekly Karate Classes & Free Beautician Course.
Rotary Club of Ukhra has done a major District Grant “Mahashewta” Project wherein we have provided Desk & Bench to majority schools of Ukhra when students use to sit on the floor
Rotary Club of Ukhra has always successfully applied and closed in all District Grants. We are successfully running Rotary Centre for Kidney Care (Free Dialysis Centre) a Global Grant Project. We have also undertaken a CSR Grant Project (Rotary’s Karma Bhumi) an Electrical Crematorium hoping to be inaugurated in 2026.
Rotary Club of Ukhra’s greatest strength is its Members as we all consider the club to be an extended family and aim for fostering Fellowship & Friendship.
